How We Test Our Tools

Last Updated: July 21, 2026

ExaHubs is built around practical browser-based tools. Testing helps us confirm that a tool performs its intended task, presents understandable instructions, and handles common user inputs responsibly.

Testing Objectives

Our reviews focus on six main areas: core functionality, output quality, usability, compatibility, performance, and error handling. For tools that process files or personal information, we also review the intended data flow and privacy-related behavior.

Representative Test Inputs

We use sample inputs that reflect common real-world use. Depending on the tool, these may include small and large files, different page counts, common image dimensions, supported file formats, long and short text, special characters, empty fields, and intentionally invalid input.

Core Functionality

We verify that the main workflow can be completed from start to finish. This may include selecting or uploading content, applying available options, processing the request, viewing a result, and downloading or sharing the final output.

Output Review

Where a tool creates a file or transformed result, we inspect whether the output opens correctly and broadly matches the selected operation. For example, we may check page order, image orientation, readability, file format, dimensions, or whether expected content is present.

Browser and Device Compatibility

We aim to support modern browsers and responsive layouts. Important workflows may be reviewed on desktop and mobile-sized screens. Browser behavior can differ, so users should keep their browser updated and report any repeatable compatibility problem.

Usability Review

A technically working tool can still be confusing. We therefore review labels, instructions, buttons, validation messages, progress information, and result actions. The expected next step should be clear without requiring specialist knowledge.

Error and Edge-Case Testing

We test common failure situations such as unsupported formats, missing fields, invalid values, corrupted files, oversized requests, interrupted processing, and unavailable services. Error messages should be understandable and should not expose unnecessary technical or security information.

Performance and Resource Use

We review whether a tool responds within a reasonable time for typical inputs and whether processing places unnecessary load on the platform. Exact processing time can vary according to file complexity, server demand, internet speed, and device performance.

Privacy and Security Checks

We assess whether the tool requests only the information needed for its stated purpose. Where files are handled by the server, we review storage locations, access controls, cleanup behavior, and whether public links are created. Our Privacy Policy and Security page provide additional information.

Release and Ongoing Monitoring

Testing does not stop permanently after release. We may review tools again after code changes, user reports, browser updates, dependency updates, security changes, or observed failures. A tool may be temporarily limited or disabled when a serious issue requires investigation.

Limitations

No test process can cover every file, device, browser, network, or unusual input. Users should review important outputs before relying on them, especially when the source material is valuable or the result will be used for legal, financial, academic, or business purposes.

Report a Problem

To report a repeatable issue, use the Contact page. Include the tool name, browser or device, steps taken, expected result, actual result, and a non-sensitive sample when appropriate.
